Poster Children is an American indie rock band formed at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1987. They have issued nine studio albums and two EPs. Known for their strong DIY ethic, the band members continue to drive their own tour bus, create their own artwork and T-shirt designs, and operate their own record label. Poster Children were also pioneers in several forms of electronic technology relating to performance art, including enhanced CDs, webcasts, and blogs. The group also did a project called Salaryman, where they released techno and electronic music between the late 90's and mid 00's.
Links to Peel[]
Peel seemed to have discovered the band in the spring of 1990 when he played tracks via their 'Flower Plower' album on his radio programmes. Further material from the group were played on his shows in the early 90's. When the group got involved with a project called Salaryman, Peel was keen on their material and they recorded a session for his show in 1997, where they performed four tracks.
