Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

Samantha Karen Fox (born 15 April 1966) is an English singer, songwriter, actress, and former glamour model. In 1983, at age 16, she began appearing as a topless model on Page 3 of British tabloid newspaper The Sun, and continued as a Page 3 girl until 1986. During this time, she became the most popular pin-up girl of her era, as well as one of the most photographed British women of the 1980s.

In the early 80's she released several singles before launching a pop music career in 1986 with her single "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)", which peaked at number-one in 17 countries.

In 1988, Fox received a Brit Award nomination for Best British Female Artist. She has also appeared in a number of films and reality television shows, and has occasionally worked as a television presenter.

On his 30 October 1985 show, Peel mentioned doing a TV programme called Sunday Sunday presented by Gloria Hunniford a month ago, where he was with Samantha Fox and said that she was a nice person. He mentioned that she told him that she was in a 'band' called S.F.X., and admitted on the show that he got the record in his collection, although he wasn't unable to find it to play on the programme.

Peel mentioned on his 23 November 1988 show that he saw Samantha Fox saying hi to him when she was leaving the BBC building, but she didn't bother stop for further conversation.

In 1989 on the February edition of Offbeat Magazine, he mentioned once that he had to review a film with Samantha Fox and got the impression if she hadn't shown everyone her tits she would have been hard pressed to get a job on the checkout at Tesco's. [1]
