On his 30th April 1977 Sounds music paper column, Peel mentioned that he and the Pig whilst holidaying in the Caribbean saw and met the actor:

"Do you know St. Lucia at all? In the Windward Islands? Oh, it is delightful, quite delightful. There were about a dozen souls in our little party - we'd never met any of the curs before, of course - including this rather quiet Scottish man who looked strikingly like Stanley Baxter, the entertainer. The Pig and I always referred to him, in that witty and inventive way we have, as The Man Who Looks Like Stanley Baxter. At least we did until Pig had a longish natter with him on the bank at Castries - that's the capital city, you know. So quaint! - and afterwards, as we combed the dusty streets for a Cap'n Jones Shiver-Me-Timbers punch, I said to the Pig, 'You know that man who looks like Stanley Baxter?' She at once replied, with a careless toss of her head, 'Yes'. 'Well', I continued, 'he is Stanley Baxter'. And he was too - still is, come to that. Turned out to be a most engaging chap. I wish I could print you a copy of his passport photograph. He demonstrated it to the Pig outside the duty free shop on Antigua, and she laffed so much I feared for her safety." [1]
