John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

Great to have the new page. One of the ones we really needed.

But I was wonderng if the page has become a bit unbalanced with all the extra info in the band section - as long as we're trying to keep the focus on Peel.

As an alternative, could go back to the previous version and add a "read more at Wikipedia" link at the end of that? I don't think we need to copy over much more than an intro paragraph or so.

Hi Steve

I've added the read more on Wikipedia and cut the paragraphs.

Many thanks for going with my suggestion. Hope it seems OK.

I think it looks much better now

A better suggestion would perhaps be to just write a paragraph detailing their career in brief, with a "read more at Wikipedia" tagged on. At the moment it doesn't give a flavour of the band's success (which was my reason for adding the sentence about their top 10 singles yesterday). I'll have a crack at it if you like.

No probs Doc, that's probably a better idea, you can have a go at that if you want
