Thanks for the help in my sandbox with the Wilshaw tapes' unknown tracks. It had been quick run through the files when I was on the train, but I don't think I could have identified them all anyway. Shazaming with headphones on a noisy train doesn't work too well... I've only wikified the ones which have brought something new/improved to the table.
Incidentally I see that Colin Harper has posted quite a lot of old extracts of old sessions/shows from the late 60s/70s on his Youtube channel other than the Stefan Grossman and Blodwyn Pig shows that you have added to the site. Do you plan to go through these, and if so, would you like any help? I assume that they must be off-air recordings, certainly some are, but not checked most of the others.
No problems. I was lucky to identify some of the unknowns, because I actually heard these songs before, although I suspect Shazam wouldn't have identified them. The only one I couldn't identify, which Shazam failed was the unusual Shadows/Adam And The Ants/Iggy Pop style combo "another neat idea" instrumental, which still remains unknown. Perhaps I'll go to the British Library soon and listen to that show, which has that unknown unusual Shadows/Adam And The Ants/Iggy Pop style combo "another neat idea" instrumental. I got the unknown Welsh language punk tune from help on Twitter, where one of the users identified the U Thant track, after I tweeted help in identifying a Welsh language punk tune. It took I guess 5-10 minutes for someone to identify it. First time I used Twitter to do that. And I was surprised how quickly people there helped with identifying the tune. A good tool for future unknowns in the future, although I have not tested it for the unknown unusual Shadows/Adam And The Ants/Iggy Pop style combo "another neat idea".
I have no problems if you want to wikify any potential John Peel's material from Colin Harper's YouTube channel. However, I can't find anymore JP's material from his channel, which hasn't been wikified since I wikified Stefan Grossman's concert of 1971 and a bit of Blodwyn Pig's material on Peel's show from 1970.
I wondered whether Colin Harper has uploaded those on Sugarmegs and Soundcloud. Talking about uploads, I've found a few audio files of Peel's shows that have not been available until now. I've added the links to them. If you go to Recent Activity on the Peel Wiki site, you would see the ones that I've added.
