The Tights were an English punk rock band from Worcester. The band's only two singles were released by the Cherry Red Records label. The Tights debuted in June 1978 with Bad Hearts / It / Cracked, a single of the Week in Record Mirror. September follow-up Howard Hughes was a tribute to the legendarily eccentric America tycoon, but the band were unable to commit to regular gigs and they broke up the following year. The group briefly reformed in the mid 00's.
Links to Peel[]
Peel played both of their singles in 1978 and Iain McNay, the founder of Cherry Red acknowledged JP's influence, when the group sold the initial pressing of 2,000 records after their music was played on his shows. [1]
