John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

Zuzu's Petals

Zuzu's Petals were an all-female indie rock trio from Minnesota, Minneapolis, who formed in 1988.

Made up of singer/guitarist Laurie Lindeen, bassist Coleen Elwood and drummer Linda Pitmon, the band took their name from the classic film It's A Wonderful Life.

Signed to independent label TwinTone, once the home of other renowned Minneapolis bands such as The Replacements and The Jayhawks, the band released two well-received albums during their short career When No One's Looking in 1992 and  Music Of Your Life in 1993.

After splitting in 1994 Lindeen went on to marry fellow Minneapolis musician Paul Westerberg, formerly of The Replacements, and made one last foray into music with the solo EP A Pregnant Pause in 1998. She also penned an acclaimed novel about her days in Zuzu's Petals called Petal Pusher: A Rock And Roll Cinderella Story, published in 2007.

Meanwhile, drummer Coleen Elwood was the only member of the trio who continued a career in music, recording and touring with former Dream Syndicate frontman Steve Wynn as well as playing drums in his side-project with Peter Buck of R.E.M., The Baseball Project.
